GLOBAL RECOGNITION
Vietnam named among world’s 28 most beautiful destinations
Vietnam is officially a head-turner. Condé Nast Traveler has named the country among the world’s 28 most beautiful destinations, praising it as “a haven for outdoor enthusiasts.” The nod highlights Ha Long Bay’s emerald waters, Ha Giang’s dramatic mountain passes, and the jungle-draped allure of Phu Quoc. This isn’t just a vanity title—it reflects a booming recovery: January 2026 saw a record 2.5 million international visitors, setting the stage for an ambitious 25 million target this year.

UNESCO MILESTONE
Hin Nam No National Park named UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site
Laos is celebrating a major moment. Hin Nam No National Park in Khammouane province has been officially feted as a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site—the country’s first natural site to earn the title. Spanning 82,000 hectares of ancient limestone karst (dating back 400 million years), it forms a transboundary wonder with Vietnam’s Phong Nha-Ke Bang. This is a huge win for conservation and eco-tourism.

TOURISM STRATEGY
Cambodia shifts toward experiential and cinema tourism
However, the landscape isn’t without nuance. While tourism revenue is projected to rise, international arrivals dipped last year. The Ministry of Tourism is actively tackling challenges—from online fraud concerns to infrastructure upgrades—to restore confidence. The focus is shifting toward “experiential tourism” and niche offerings like cinema tourism to diversify beyond Angkor Wat.
