Getting to Cao Bang independently (2026)
By sleeper bus (recommended): Several operators (e.g., Hung Thanh, Ngoc Anh) depart from My Dinh or Luong Yen bus stations in Hanoi. VIP sleeper ~400,000 VND one-way. Departs evening (~7:30 PM), arrives early morning (~5:00 AM).
By minivan/private car: 6–7 hours, ~2.5–3.5 million VND one-way (depending on vehicle).
By motorbike: For experienced riders only – 300km via TL 3 and QL3, spectacular but challenging mountain roads.
