North (Oct–Dec, Mar–Apr)
Cool, dry, clear skies. Autumn & spring are magical. Winter (Jan–Feb) can be chilly in Hanoi and cold in mountains.
Center (Feb–Aug)
Dry, sunny, warm. Monsoons & typhoons possible from Sept to Jan. Best months: March to May.
South (Dec–Apr)
Dry season: low humidity, warm nights. May–Nov brings hot, humid afternoon downpours — still very travelable.

February to April — South dry, Center mild, North crisp spring. Second best: October–November (watch for central coast rain).

Saving Face & Temples
Avoid public confrontation. In pagodas: cover shoulders & knees, remove shoes before main halls, never point feet at Buddha. Use both hands when giving money or business cards — it signals respect.
Currency & Tipping
Official currency: Vietnamese Đồng (VND). Watch out: 20,000 VND (blue) vs 500,000 VND (cyan) look similar. Tipping not expected but appreciated: $10–15/day for guides, $5–10 for drivers.
